Site Update - v1.1.3 Released!

1 minute read

It’s been a busy summer so far, and we’ve taken advantage of the off-season to overhaul some of the guts of the site – in particular how we do authorization. As boring as that may seem, changing things like who can schedule team practices, update scores, or view matches outside of their division (to name a few) used to require code changes. Now it can all be done with a click of the mouse and is flexible from league to league.

Beyond the back-end stuff, we’ve also brought in some new functionality that will improve your experience with the site:

  • Forgot your password? No problem! head over to our password reset page to get squared away.
  • Want to know your averages to-date this season? Head over to your dashboard on your team’s page - we’ve added a new “card” which contains your average slow, timed, and rapid scores along with your average total for the season and even your average “x” counts.
  • Frustrated that your League’s Officers weren’t listed anywhere, or that only captains could update scores? Fixed that. League Officers are now listed on your League’s page, and each officer can have custom “roles” to grant them the privileges they need on the site.
  • Previously when updating scores there was no feedback at all about whether the update was successful – while rare, I know I got burned a couple times by this when my computer lost wifi. Fixed it. Now you should see success or error messages with every update, presented in an unobtrusive way (we don’t want to slow you down). While this is a ten-x improvement over where we were in our last release, we’ll be improving this even more later this summer.
  • Finally, we spent quite a bit of time working on the performance of the site. I know that’s not a feature, but the page load times should be much snappier now! Enjoy the time saved.

Enjoy the new release! Play around on the site, see what’s new, and let us know if you have any questions.
